"Well-distributed highlights in the match were used
Yvonne Elisabeth Frey as Chrysothemis delivers a reliable, metallic quality and ample reserves. Female singers not only fear the dark musical drama "Elektra" here, but also love it. Strauss's almost incessantly rousing and provocative female parts enable, indeed require, the excessive expression of dark sides.

"As Chrysothemis, Yvonne Elisabeth Frey captivated with her bright, lyrical-dramatic soprano. With youthful fire, she poured her dreams and longings into blossoming, room-filling sounds. One of the highlights was also the dialogue with Elektra in the finale. She portrayed her role with verve and intensity."

"Between them they offer a reading of patient conviction and resolution, with the final three songs, describing Maria's death, achieving tragic intensity as they should and must."

"All three female roles are congenially cast, with Yvonne Elisabeth Frey (as Chrysothemis) and Gráinne Gillis (as Clytemnestra) particularly notable for their text comprehensibility. Their voices, overall, are magnificent; their acting impetus is convincing."
